An Icy Forest Tabletop Christmas Tree

This year I decided to not break out my big-ol' Christmas tree and instead opted for a little, 5 foot charmer. I've always found tabletop Christmas trees beautiful and nostalgic and I definitely love the fact that these tabletop trees don't take up a lot of space. Every year I find myself moving furniture around to accommodate my regular-sized tree and this time I only had to move my barrister bookcase to fit my tree. Ugh.. gotta love small space living, LOL.

Last week, I came across a really nice-looking tree from Target. At 80 bucks, I thought it was a great deal! Especially since the branches resemble those of high-quality faux Christmas trees that cost a whole lot more! I set it up and was happily surprised at how great it looked -especially with that price tag. Here is how it looked with only the lights I added:

Nice, right? Although I would be happy with a bear tree, I decided I was going to use last year's ornaments on this tree, but I was going to add a snowy look to it. To do that, I purchased a few flocked branches along about 10 packs of dusters from Dollar Tree to create snow on my branches. I think it looks pretty darn good! I got a "flocked" look without having to spray my tree! I added my glass icicles and iced branches to continue that snowy effect on the tree

To frame my little tree, I added my faux boxwood garland that I use every year. No real garland for me! I CANNOT stand the mess it makes after the real garland dries out -which is about 3 days later! To create a fuller-looking garland I put 3, 6 foot strands together. I finish off each end with a bunch of pine cones and a big, black bow.

Although I absolutely LOVE big Christmas trees, I'm glad I decided on a smaller tree this year. Not only do I love how it looks and how easy it was  to decorate a tree of this size, I also  and I hope that I was able to set an example to anyone who lives in a smaller sized home and might not have the room for a full tree. As you can see,  it's still possible to create impact regardless of size :)

Now that I got my Christmas tree decorating out of the way, it's time to tackle the rest of the house. More to come soon!

-'Till next time!

  1. Your tree is so pretty! It fits into your corner perfectly. You have really shown and inspired us that you don't have to spend $300 plus on a tree. Your new carpet is just so perfect. It adds another layer of texture to every room you've shown. Really nice!
