Styling A Coffee Table - How to Make a Pumpkin Vase

At the end of this post, I'll send you to the next blog and also include links to all participating bloggers.

OK, LET ME SHARE MY COFFEE TABLE!

Well, actually I am not sharing my coffee table, I am sharing a coffee table that I styled for a client! She wanted me to create a fall/winter look in her home using winter whites and grays. DONE!

Apart from adding new accessories to my client's home for fall, I also made a pumpkin flower vase to adorn her coffee table (ottoman, actually) and I'm going to show you how to make one of your own! SUPER EASY! I think this project took me less than 10 minutes.

SUPPLIES:

HERE ARE THE STEPS TO MAKE YOUR OWN PUMPKIN VASE:

My vessel happens to be a small glass votive holder. When choosing your vessel, make sure it will fit inside your pumpkin. It's ok if the vessel sticks out a bit from the top of the pumpkin if your flowers and leaves are large enough to cover it.

*Use the opening of your glass cup to trace your circle. That ensures that the hole will be big enough to fit the cup.

I first tried using a large serrated kitchen knife to cut a hole in the pumpkin and it didn't work very well. Using a pumpkin carving knife makes it so much easier! After you take the top off the pumpkin, you will have to make the hole bigger by carving out the excess styrofoam.

AND YOU'RE DONE!

Add a couple of real pumpkins to your arrangement to finish the look. Place your arrangement on a tray on your coffee table and enjoy!
