Inspiration From Fashion - Summer 2017

ONE OF THE MOST common problems my clients come to me with is that they don't know what the heck they like for their home. They have NO clue as to what color or style they should choose for their decor. Totally understandable! It's hard to pinpoint what our likes and dislikes are when it comes to decorating.

If you can relate to this, then I have some advice for you. Sometimes the inspiration you need for your home decor can come from your closet! You can totally be inspired by the colors you wear and the type of fashion you are drawn to. If you look in your closet and you see that you tend to own a lot of pieces in certain colors then take a cue from that and start a color story.

Let me show you what I mean...

Here is Mr. Parker York Smith. A fashion blogger at "The Looksmith" with great taste and an awesome personality.  I love Parker's style because it's not fussy, it's casual and looks 'wearable".

I am totally digging the bright colors and overall summer vibe of this pic. So I picked it as my inspiration for home decor.

The color scheme here is a variation of blues, sand and a bit of orange as an accent color. The style has a casual, fun beach vibe.

Now that I see all this stuff, I want to go live in a beach house bungalow somewhere in SoCal... one can dream....

Many times fashion and home decor follow the same trends so if you have a knack for coordinating some nice outfits together, use those skills to coordinate a color scheme or style in your home. AND if you have trouble in the fashion department too... (Lord, help you 🙏)  Ha! Kidding! But  if you do need some fashion help then make sure to visit some fashion blogs, OK!? (if you're a guy, check out "The Looksmith") Trust me, I need fashion help too! I pretty much wear the same thing every day. Jeans, oxford shirt and converse. #BASIC.

Thanks for reading!
